Thanks for your answer comment, Nick. I was concerned about writing to a deceased blog because last topic date. I know it's hard bloggin and that stuff, but I do encourage you to go on. Topics at more deeper level about games are very rare.

Very interesting looking at it by the 'roomate problem' perspective, I think its very insightfull. It's also possible have truncated preferences. One person could rank p1, p2 and p3 and no one else, but she (or he) will have to face the consequences of being alone (match to yourself).

I hadn't read about the variant where both sides can propose at the same time. I guess it makes sense that it results in unstable arrangements. You could think about that variant as being basically the same as the "Stable Roommate Problem" I mentioned, where you pair people up from a single pool - the variant where there's two sides (pools) but both sides can propose at the same time would be similar to having one large single pool, except that all of the men would rank all of the women above all of the other men, and vice versa.

In fact, Gale-Shapley is more general, women can propose first, and men stick with the best offer received. By this way, the men are at least so good as women, but women are better off. But life is fuzzy and there is no stable match for two sides proposing at same time, that's will be pretty much like real life.

do you consider pork to be red meat ? in america there are ads on tv for 'pork - the other white meat'.

i don't particularly like the taste of lamb and did not grow up eating much in america. is lamb red meat ?

eating veal makes me sad. isn't veal baby lamb ? killed so young for us to eat. sadness.

i've always heard kangaroo is good meat and good for you. the iga in rocky sells it and the price is quite comparable to that of beef or pork. maybe we'll have to try that.

of course, on the whole, chicken is still the cheapest. i would prefer chicken over any other meat anyways, so i'm definitely ok with that.

Great post Nick. I know exactly what you are talking about and it's something only people who have ridden motorbikes can truly understand.

The Armidale area is close to where I grew up and the landscape there is beautiful. Im glad you got to experience it in one of the best ways possible.

It's been a long time since I wrote this post and I haven't used WMP11 again since, but I believe that will simply play all songs in your library in a random order.
It still doesn't let you do something like Party Shuffle, which allows you to combine shuffling and queuing.

You can shuffle all songs in WMP 11 quite easily, but it's not obvious how.

The secret is to right click on 'songs' in the left hand nav of your library and click 'play' - with shuffle enabled via the player controls at the bottom of the window.

Simple when you know how
